GLI-2 Antibody (C-10) is an IgG1 κ mouse monoclonal GLI-2 antibody (also designated GLI2 antibody) that detects the GLI-2 protein of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA. GLI-2 Antibody (C-10) is available as both the non-conjugated anti-GLI-2 antibody form, as well as multiple conjugated forms of anti-GLI-2 antibody, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Zinc-finger proteins contain DNA-binding domains and have a wide variety of functions, most of which encompass some form of transcriptional activation or repression. The majority of zinc-finger proteins contain a Krüppel-type DNA binding domain and a KRAB domain, which is thought to interact with KAP1, thereby recruiting histone modifying proteins. GLI-2 (GLI family zinc finger 2), also known as HPE9 or THP (tax helper protein), is a 1,586 amino acid nuclear protein that acts as a transcriptional activator and belongs to the GLI C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family. Localized to the nucleus, GLI-2 is thought to play a role in embryogenesis. The gene encoding GLI-2 maps to human chromosome 2q14.2, and when defective is the cause of holoprosencephaly type 9 (HPE9). GLI-2 exists as five alternatively spliced isoforms.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-271786 X be used instead of the standard form sc-271786?

Asked by: jenni
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. GLI-2 Antibody (C-10): sc-271786 X form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
