SEE ALSO...

MDHC Antibody (H-6) is an IgG1 κ mouse monoclonal MDHC antibody (also designated MDHC antibody) that detects the MDHC protein of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA. MDHC Antibody (H-6) is available as both the non-conjugated anti-MDHC antibody form, as well as multiple conjugated forms of anti-MDHC antibody, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cytosolic malate dehydrogenase (MDHC or cMDH) is an important NAD-dependent enzyme involved in glycometabolism that catalyzes the formation of oxaloacetate and NADH from L-malate and NAD. MDHC is highly expressed in brain, heart and skeletal muscle and plays a role in aerobic energy production for muscle contraction, transmission of neuronal signals, absorption/ resorption pathways, collagen-supporting functions, dead cell phagocytosis, as well as pathways involved in gas exchange and cell division. Furthermore, MDHC is a regulatory subunit of the nucleic acid-conducting channel (NACh). MDHC functions as a homodimer and is highly conserved in plants, animals and bacteria. The activity of MDHC is controlled by the sesquiterpenoid juvenile hormone (JH) and the steroid hormone ecdysone.

Can MDHC (H-6): sc-166879 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. Yes, MDHC (H-6): sc-166879 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
