SEE ALSO...

CTLA-4 Antibody (F-8) is an IgG1 κ mouse monoclonal CTLA-4 antibody (also designated CD152 antibody or CTLA4 antibody) that detects the CTLA-4 protein of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA. CTLA-4 Antibody (F-8) is available as both the non-conjugated anti-CTLA-4 antibody form, as well as multiple conjugated forms of anti-CTLA-4 antibody, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. T cell proliferation and lymphokine production are triggered by occupation of the TCR by antigen, followed by a costimulatory signal that is delivered by a ligand expressed on antigen presenting cells. The B7-related cell surface proteins CD80 (B7-1) and CD86 (B7-2) are expressed on antigen presenting cells, bind the homologous T cell receptors CD28 and CTLA-4 (cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated protein-4) and trigger costimulatory signals for optimal T cell activation. CTLA-4 shares 31% overall amino acid identity with CD28 and it has been proposed that CD28 and CTLA-4 are functionally redundant. SLAM is a novel receptor on T cells that, when engaged, potentiates T cell expansion in a CD28-independent manner. B7, also designated BB1, is another ligand or counterreceptor for CD28 and CTLA-4 that is expressed on the antigen-presenting cell.

What is the specific region where this antibody is interacting? The datasheet says that the region of the interaction is between amino acids 195-223, but this is bigger region than an epitope region (6-8 aa). Is it recognizes a discontinuous epitope?

Asked by: Marysol
The exact binding site has not bee characterized, at this time the most information we have is the binding region listed on the Datasheet of 195-223
