SEE ALSO...

BID Antibody (B-3) is an IgG1 κ mouse monoclonal BID antibody (also designated BH3 interacting domain death agonist antibody) that detects the BID protein of human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA. BID Antibody (B-3) is available as both the non-conjugated anti-BID antibody form, as well as multiple conjugated forms of anti-BID antibody, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Members of the Bcl-2 family of proteins interact to regulate programmed cell death, or apoptosis. Various homodimers and heterodimers formed by proteins in this family can either promote or inhibit apoptosis. Bcl-2 blocks cell death following a variety of stimuli and confers a death-sparing effect on certain hematopoietic cell lines following growth factor withdrawal. Additional apoptotic inhibitors in this family include A1, Bag-1, Bcl-w, Bcl-x and Mcl-1. Pro-apoptotic members of this family include Bax, Bad, Bak, Bik (NBK) and BID. BID contains a BH3 domain which allows it to dimerize with and counter the death repressor effects of Bcl-2. BID has also been shown to heterodimerize with Bcl-x and the death agonist Bax. BID is localized predominantly in the cytosol and is also present in membrane fractions. It is highly expressed in kidney and can also be detected in brain, spleen, liver, testis and lung.

hi how are you which is the better dultion for bid rab antiobody ,and secondary antiobody for this protien

Asked by: bio2223
Thank you for your question. The recommended dilution for primary and secondary antibody depends on the application you intend to use it for. Our recommended starting dilution for the primary antibody for Western Blot, for example, 1:200, but for IF or IHC would be 1:50. The secondary should be used at the manufacturer's recommended range. All of our recommended protocols can be found on the website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols Please contact Technical Service by phone, (800)-457-3801 option 2, email <[email protected]>, or by live chat directly on our website, www.scbt.com if you have any further questions.

Can BID (B-3): sc-373939 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, BID (B-3): sc-373939 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good antibodyI tried this antibody to replace the reference sc-11423 Bid (FL195) which reconizes FL-BID and t-BID in our model. Works on Burkitt Lymphoma cells but unfortunatly it doesn't reconize the truncated version of Bid.
