COL4A Antibody (COL-94) is an IgG1 mouse monoclonal COL4A antibody (also designated COL4A antibody) that detects the COL4A protein of human origin by WB, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA. COL4A Antibody (COL-94) is available as the non-conjugated anti-COL4A antibody. The extensive family of COL gene products (collagens) is composed of several chain types, including fibril-forming interstitial Collagens (Types I, II, III and V) and basement membrane Collagens (Type IV), each type containing multiple isoforms. Collagens are fibrous, extracellular matrix proteins with high tensile strength and are the major components of connective tissue, such as tendons and cartilage. All collagens contain a triple helix domain and frequently show lateral self-association in order to form complex connective tissues. Several collagens also play a role in cell adhesion, important for maintaining normal tissue architecture and function.

It is non cross-reactive with Collagen Type I, II, III, V, VI or VII, human Vitronectin, Fibronectin or chondroitin sulfate A B and C, or denatured or denatured-reduced collagen in immunoblots.

Does this antibody react with only non-denatured collagen IV ? How about denatured one ?

Thank you for your question. Yes, this antibody is specifically recommended for native, non-denatured, Collagen Type IV of human origin. It is not recommended for detection of denatured Collagen Type IV.
