Swissprots Q9UU16 P10815
Accessions CAB46666 P10815 NM_001021079 NP_595171
Function Essential for the control of the cell cycle at the G2/M (mitosis) transition. Interacts with the cdc2 protein kinase to form MPF. G2/M cyclins accumulate steadily during G2 and are abruptly destroyed at mitosis. Involved in the reorganization of the cytoskeleton on transition from G2 to mitosis. Association with rum1 promotes its proteolysis during G1. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:2534559, ECO:0000269|PubMed:2847913, ECO:0000269|PubMed:2908246, ECO:0000269|PubMed:8455610, ECO:0000269|PubMed:9303310}.
Subcellular Location Nucleus. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton, microtubule organizing center, spindle pole body.
