Function Component of the anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), a cell cycle-regulated E3 ubiquitin ligase that controls progression through mitosis and the G1 phase of the cell cycle. The APC/C complex acts by mediating ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of target proteins: it mainly mediates the formation of 'Lys-11'-linked polyubiquitin chains and, to a lower extent, the formation of 'Lys-48'- and 'Lys-63'-linked polyubiquitin chains. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:18485873}.

Anti-cdc27 Antibody - Western Blot. Western blot of Affinity Purified anti-cdc27 antibody shows detection of a band ~90 kD corresponding to human cdc27 (arrowhead). Approximately 35 ug of HeLa whole cell lysate was separated by SDS-PAGE and transferred onto nitrocellulose. After blocking the membrane was probed with the primary antibody diluted to 1.0 ug/ml for 2 h at room temperature followed by washes and reaction with a 1:10000 dilution of IRDye800 conjugated Gt-a-Rabbit IgG [H&L] MX ( for 45 min at room temperature. IRDye800 fluorescence image was captured using the Odyssey Infrared Imaging System developed by LI-COR. IRDye is a trademark of LI-COR, Inc. Other detection systems will yield similar results.
